Los Angeles Palms

One of the most overworked images from Los Angeles is the Palm Tree. Here are a few more: I'll probably find a few more before I get these out of my system. Thanks for looking. Click on an image to isolate it on the screen.

A Friday Walk

October 23, 2024  •  Leave a Comment
The last post to the site was all about a walk up Mt. Wilson, part of the San Gabriel range behind Pasadena. This is is another walk, but a different bit of the world. We took a short trip the the Lower Engadine, a valley in eastern Switzerland, close to the Austrian and Italian boarders. The scenery offers a bit of a contrast... An early...

A Sunday Walk

September 20, 2024  •  Leave a Comment
Pasadena, the town I've lived in, off and on for the last 50 or so years, lies nestled at the foot of the San Gabriel Mountains. One of the high points in the range is Mount Wilson. It was named for Benamin Davis Wilson, a local rancher who built the first modern trail to the top in 1864. Wilson was also the grandfather of General George Patton, a...

A daily walk

January 25, 2023
Sometimes its a little tricky to get started again after you've stopped doing for a while. I haven't had the camera out. Easy to find reasons not to go picture taking...no subject...the light's bad...whatever. The way to beat that state of mind is to take the camera and go take pictures. So I did... Palm trees, nice light, click... A...

Joshua rides again

August 29, 2022
A very quick trip to the desert. A good friend found a hidden valley with a Joshua Tree forrest tucked into it. What better excuse for a drive. Oed' und leer das meer...

August 22, 2022

Eliot, who nicked it from Wagner), translates as "Empty and desolate is the sea"...which is true, but also true is how spectacularly it changes through the day. Talk about "Never a dull moment..." Peaceful... Calm... Pe...
